QUESTIONS RE: WOOL (ANSWERED BY ANNELI)

My pricing is based on material cost, original design value, and – of course – labor.

MATERIAL COST: Yarn is not cheap, and I am not sponsored by any company. I always make sure that I work with yarn quality that my customers and I are satisfied with.

ORIGINAL DESIGN: It takes a lot of creative energy to design and conceptualize each piece, and with every new piece comes a wave of experimentation (and lots of frogging).

LABOR: Behind every piece on this website is hours and hours of crocheting. Crochet is luxury fashion and CANNOT be made by machine. Keep this in mind next time you see crochet being sold at a fast fashion store – someone is getting paid incredibly little for you to be able to buy a cheap item.

I choose my testers based on quality of photos and previous projects. Follower count does not matter, although I will rarely pick new accounts as testers since they usually do not yet have a repertoire of work to showcase.

If there is a pattern out, it will be available here. If a pattern is in its test phase, it will be available here. Pattern writing is an extensive process that takes a lot of time. It is fine to request patterns, but please do not expect them.

QUESTIONS RE: BUGGERS (ANSWERED BY ALEKSANDER)

I use a wide variety of brands for different materials based both on what I have come to like and what is currently available from suppliers that I use. Mostly this is Hareline, Wapsi, The Fly Company, FLydressing and Hends. For hooks I mostly use Gamakatsu, Hanak, Hends and sprite.

As with any hand work there will be some variations to the prodcut. I try to make all my flies as durable as possible and I make sure that they do perform the way they are intented to. I do not, however, strive to make every fly an exact copy of the last one but let them have some individuality, I think they are more interesting that way!

Since flies and even my fly boxes are a rather lightweight good I usually send them as regular, non-trackable, padded mail to keep them safe. If you want to make the parcel trackable you can just select the crochet shipping option in the checkout!
